Dr. Blake is a native of Thibodaux, Louisiana. He graduated from E.D. White High School in 2001 and continued his education at Nicholls State University where he received his bachelor’s degree in biology. Dr. Blake attended veterinary school at St. George’s University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished his veterinary training at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009.
Returning to his community has always been of utmost importance to Dr. Blake. He served the Houma and Raceland communities for 15 years through Marcello Veterinary Hospital. The clinics were acquired by Pet Vet in April 2022, and Dr. Blake remained as medical director until April 2024. Currently, Dr. Blake is proud to own and operate LAVet Hospital on North Canal Blvd. in Thibodaux. This clinic will serve as a center for the community providing quality care and progressive medicine for small animals.
Dr. Blake and Dr. Astrid met at LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. They are the proud parents of one son and two daughters. When he is not at the clinic, Dr. Blake enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and volunteering in the Thibodaux community. He has proudly served in the Thibodaux Volunteer Fire Department in Company No. 1 since 2002.
